There's an old Spanish proverb that translates roughly to the saying 'the cobbler's children have no shoes', meaning that someone with a specific skill is often so busy assisting others that their own affairs go unattended. This adage can be relevant even to the attorney community.
Our speaker, Emily Lassiter, learned this first hand 9 years ago when she lost her husband in a plane crash. They were both attorneys, but they did not have the financial or legal documents they needed in place. Emily learned a lot living through this tragedy and now she have a passion for educating women about what they need to do to get their financial house in order in case Plan A goes awry. In this CLE, she covers the tools every woman needs to face any situation life brings – whether that is divorce, death or sickness. She also discusses best practices for attorneys for their personal and business finances, drilling down into specifics for the attorney community. It is never too late to make a plan!
