This presentation explores the use of empathy in mediation.  We know that building rapport helps to establish common ground, emphasize similarities, and establish empathy to help parties feel more comfortable in the exchange.  But, how do we do that as attorneys representing clients and as mediators?  Our panel will discuss the importance of empathy in mediation and then two panelists will engage in a mock mediation to test the skills we have learned.
