After 15 years and numerous attempts by Congress, the Corporate Transparency Act was enacted in 2021 and will be effective on January 1, 2024. The CTA requires many companies to disclose specific information regarding their Beneficial Owners and Company Applicants. At this CLE, you will learn which companies have to report, what information they must report, the timeframe for reporting, and how to be sure you and your clients are in compliance with this new law. The consequences of not reporting are significant so you will want to be totally up-to-date on this new reporting obligation.
