Each year the BBA Criminal Justice Section puts together an appointed counsel CLE. This CLE is meant to aid members of the private bar that are involved with appointed criminal cases in Jefferson County, Birmingham Division. This CLE covers topics from the basics of District Court, motion and hearing practice, pretrial court programs, attorney fee and voucher declarations, and overview of Circuit Court, post-trial procedures, the Birmingham Municipal Court, and representation of non-citizen clients.
