Pro Bono Opportunities

The Birmingham Bar Association offers numerous pro bono opportunities for its members, primarily through its affiliated organization, Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham (VLB).  VLB helps facilitate access to justice for more than 3,500 income-qualifying clients each year.

Volunteer contributions range from handling individual cases to staffing weekly help desks at the Jefferson County District and Domestic Relations courts.  The VLB staff assists volunteer attorneys at every turn, and the Program offers opportunities both to gain experience and to give back!  Visit the website, here, or contact Executive Director Glory McLaughlin, at gmclaughlin@volunteerlawyersbham.org for more information.

The BBA Birmingham Connection Committee is one of numerous committees through which lawyers become involved in the work of the Bar. One of its purposes is to ensure that the Birmingham Bar is a leader in the Birmingham community, and, in furtherance of that purpose, it coordinates service projects that benefit the community. To volunteer for this, or any other of the Bar's committees, please contact the BBA Executive Director, Jim H. Wilson, at  jwilson@birminghambar.org.
